Worry less, make more, be brilliant

Worry less, make more, be brilliant – you've probably been bombarded with these words recently (if my social media squirrels have been working their paws off, that is!) So, what's all this ballyhoo about, and why should you give a fig about it? How many questions can I squeeze into a single sentence?

The "Worry Less, Make More, Be Brilliant" concept is a scrumptiously simple, breezy, and repeatable idea that took me over 25 years to refine (the kind of simple that takes its sweet time!) In truth, it likely took longer, but 25 years was a spine-chilling enough span to reminisce that far.

I shall endeavour not to channel my inner Tarantino and bounce all over the shop (but I shan't make any promises) – the crux of the matter is for you to grasp why this notion could be exceedingly crucial for you and your enterprise.

The "too long; didn't read" rendition is this: owning a business that exhilarates, invigorates, and delivers what you desire doesn't transpire by magically morphing into a Steve Jobs or Jeff Bezos, nor does it arise from a mountaintop retreat and attaining monk-like Zen tranquillity. It emanates from possessing the tools to effortlessly figure out what your business is, what you yearn for, and a straightforward set of comprehensible tools to accomplish this. That's what I discovered, and that's what I'm over the moon to present to you. Not some gleaming new fad but a long-term scheme for the success you initially aimed for and to alleviate the worry you accumulated along the journey.

So, why do I possess the cheek to believe I've concocted something distinct, exceptional, or helpful for you? Well, I don't; the individuals I've collaborated with and aided, the fabulous people whose businesses I've witnessed flourish and prosper, realised it! It might sound peculiar, but it's genuine – as in life, it often necessitates an external viewpoint to bring lucidity to our actions. I was merely "being myself," assisting others, savouring the challenge and the escapade, and I assumed I was simply extra pesky to the extent that people accepted my help for an easy existence! It was amidst this that I stumbled upon a startling revelation!

But before I unveil that epiphany (I do want to keep you enthralled!), I must catapult back in time (feel free to insert the Wayne's World flashback sound here, depending on your age). I NEVER intended to do this, never planned to embark on anything like this…BUT…in reality, I did, but I was oblivious to it. Creativity was the nucleus of my endeavours, but I was shackled to the notion that creativity is an artistic process. Consequently, I believed creativity was music production (I studied music production at university), design (I fashioned interface designs for the likes of L'Oréal and Sainsbury's), or photography (award-winning family photography studio). All these ventures were creative, and I thought these were the threads that always drew me back, and in one sense, that was accurate. However, I was overlooking the grander picture of what the creative drive behind these seemingly arbitrary pursuits was.

I employed 'creativity' as a sort of catch-all, a mystical ribbon to bind these endeavours together and make sense of my hindsight-driven path. The actuality, the realisation, was that I didn't require this, as the

connection between these was present, but it took others to illuminate it for me – fortunately, without resorting to a soggy kipper slap to the noggin.

The creativity that propelled me had deeper roots – it was LEGO (figuring out how to construct something from plastic bricks), it was winning an award in music for the guide I assembled rather than the instrument itself, it was the plan I developed as part of my degree to operate a studio that landed me a job offer, it was introducing some of the earliest touchscreen displays so that customers knew what to do, it was devising straightforward business systems for my staff. It was the fusion of an apparently disparate skill set and a zeal for making things enjoyable that constituted the creative thread around which my entire life revolved.

It wasn't visual creativity, nor was it business creativity; it was both and neither. It was the capacity to act like a sponge or a Rosetta Stone (admittedly, not the most thrilling metaphors) – deciphering, absorbing, translating, and wringing out knowledge and ideas, presenting them in a manner that others found accessible and exhilarating! THAT was my creativity, and that was the revelation that took years to manifest. When it did, it felt like an accelerated movie flashback scene, where the protagonist sees all the pieces converge in a whirlwind.

Within minutes, the impostor syndrome vanished, the 'jack of all trades' label was ripped away, and the stock response of "don't know what I want to be when I grow up" was shredded. I suddenly realised that what I NEED to do is help others experience the same level of bliss, I NEED to help others gain focus on their true desires, and my tool, my superpower, isn't in celebrating the fact that every book, podcast, video, seminar, client, course, qualification, and experience I've accumulated doesn't diminish me – it can make YOU MORE. I can use it to help others cut through the noise, to make people beam – not just from witty humour, but from the smile that stems from serenity, a stress-free existence, and a life with less worry. And MOST importantly, I can help people attain what they initially set out to be: BRILLIANT.

Every small business owner never begins their journey to be mundane, ordinary, stressed, and fraught with worry. You embarked on this adventure to be the best version of yourself, to be BRILLIANT:

adjective

  1. shining brightly; sparkling; glittering; lustrous: the brilliant lights of the city.
  2. distinguished; illustrious: a brilliant performance by a young pianist.
  3. possessing or displaying great intelligence, talent, or quality: a brilliant technician.

However, along the way, that radiance, that brilliance becomes tarnished and dented by worry, stress, and convoluted matters that you never knew you didn't want to know. My epiphany was that I revel in the process of solving problems and running a business more than I enjoy performing the tasks the business does (yes, I concede I'm an oddball…no doubts there!) But that's where I can sparkle and help restore your lustre.

Assisting you in harnessing the energy, passion, tools, skills, and more to tackle business challenges while doing more of what makes your heart sing, the very thing that brought you here! The very thing that keeps your clients returning and spending more. Helping you unlock the genuine profit you seek, making things easier so you can make more, worry less, and be brilliant.

Six words that took 25 years to realise and six words that I want to help define your business's future.
